About the Event

The Saola in Lao and Vietnamese Culture

We are delighted to offer and announce a presentation by the Saola Foundation’s President Bill Robichaud, March 27, about some fascinating aspects of Saola in the cultures of Lao and Vietnam. Although Saola first came to the attention of scientists and the outside world only in 1992, local people in the Annamite Mountains have, of course, known the animal for a very, very long time. In fact, the first known records of the species date back thousands, not tens, of years. Bill’s talk will draw from his many years of field work in the villages and forests of the Saola’s range. Please join us for this free, live, one-hour program on Saturday, March 27 at these local times below (note: the times account for the coming switch in North America, before March 27, to summer Daylight Saving Time). We will send out a link to the talk several days in advance.
