David brings deep experience in Asian conservation and private philanthropy. He helped open the first WWF office in Hanoi in 1992 (the year Saola was discovered in Vietnam), and served as WWF’s Vietnam Country Representative until 1999 (during which time he expanded WWF's programs into Lao PDR and Cambodia).  He subsequently served as the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Program Officer for conservation and sustainable development, and the Ford Foundation's Representative for Vietnam and Thailand.
